INTERNATIONAL GT OPEN – 1 SEPTEMBER 2021
Red Bull Ring return confirmed for new challenge with TF Sport
Sam De Haan will make a return to the International GT Open grid, competing with 2020 series vice champions TF Sport. Racing at the Red Bull Ring over the weekend 11-12 September, Sam will race with the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 for the first time, partnered with Aston Martin factory driver Charlie Eastwood.
Sam has scored a string of impressive results in the British GT championship since his debut in 2018, going on to finish as runner up during 2019 and 2020. He also made his International GT Open debut last season at the Austrian circuit, scoring an impressive second-place Pro-Am finish and overall podium during a one-off championship entry.
Building on his successful 2020 season, this latest addition to the race calendar adds to a full-season entry into the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, alongside standalone entries into the Intelligent Money British GT Championship.
TF Sport have enjoyed huge success across a variety of championships with the Aston Martin Vantage, and they are no stranger to the International GT Open championship. During the 2020 campaign, a stellar lights-to-flag victory for Sam’s new teammate Charlie Eastwood at the Red Bull Ring was a highlight as the British team claimed multiple victories and podium finishes on the way to finishing second in the championship.
All boasting a proven track record at the Red Bull Ring, Sam, Charlie and the TF Sport-run Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will be an exciting combination for the weekend’s double header. Both races will be streamed live on the championship’s YouTube channel.
